book of johns is a musical trio consisting of drummer/percussionist John borden, guitar player John dereszynski and bass player Paul Jonas. the trio has been playing experimental music for the past 30 years. book of johns mutated from the duos earlier electronic/video group BIKNEVA.

Primary musical focus of book of johns (BoJ) is a form of “cinematic improv” utilizing organic sounds (drums, guitars, marimba, tank drums, tuned percussion, etc.) in an improvisatory yet accessible form of presentation. Elements of odd-time signatures, odd melodic phrasing along with evolving time/soundscapes makes for a musical painting of ever unfolding vignettes
